Daily Tech News Show: April 5, 2017

On Tom Merritt's fantastic show, Tom, Scott Johnson and I discuss the day's tech news, then spend 15-ish minutes on the risks of synthetic biology and artificial consciousness (starting at 29:20). This is connected to the talk I gave at the Shift Forum, which is linked above. You can listen right on this page, or see the episode in video here.

This Week in Tech: Sunday March 26, 2017

On Leo Laporte's venerable long-format weekly discussion, I join Leo, Canadian tech wiz Georgia Dow, and Leo's latest hire Nathan Olivarez-Giles to discuss all the latest tech news. We spend a fair amount of time discussing Year Zero toward the start - and a bit less time on After On. You can listen right on this page, or see the episode in video here.

NPR's Live Wire Radio: September 23, 2012

Live Wire is a fabulous weekly show recorded before a big, lively audience in a gorgeous old theater in Portland, Oregon. It's syndicated to dozens of NPR stations across the US, as well as to radio stations in Canada and the UK. My bit starts at 37:35. This show also features the Corin Tucker Band (a kickass Sleater-Kinney spinout), a young indie-folk songwriter named Joe Pug, and Portland-based thriller writer Chelsea Cain.

NPR's All Things Considered: August 8, 2012

NPR did this wonderful six-minute piece on Year Zero (including an interview with me and excerpts from my TED talk) in one of their most widely distributed shows (100's of radio stations throughout the US and beyond).

NPR/WNYC's On the Media:  August 3, 2012

A smart & thorough 7-ish-minute piece about Year Zero (including an interview with me, and excerpts of John Hodgman reading the audiobook), from another of NPR's most widely distributed shows.

John Hodgman reads Year Zero's Prologue (on Nerdist: June 19, 2012)

As noted above, the brilliant comedian, actor, and long-term Daily Show Resident Expert John Hodgman recorded Year Zero's audiobook. This is an excerpt of the prologue - first published on the Nerdist site.

John Hodgman reads Year Zero's 1st Chapter (on NPR: July 19, 2012)

As noted above (twice, now), the brilliant comedian, actor, and long-term Daily Show Resident Expert John Hodgman recorded Year Zero's audiobook. This is an excerpt of the first chapter (about 22 minutes), first released by NPR's All Songs Considered.
